Ravensdown, who are a farmer owned co-operative, have recently opened a brand new, state of the art fertilizer facility in New Plymouth.
TDX were invited to specify a new Volvo Wheel Loader for the facility which was a little tricky at the time, due to the building still being under construction.
Our regional Construction Equipment Territory Manager, Lawrence Ordish, surveyed the incomplete facility, which uncovered some challenges in selecting the correct size Wheel Loader for the operation. Following the initial proposal, we were asked to return to the site to further evaluate other criteria which potentially impacted the Wheel Loader choice.
After the second survey, we recommended a Volvo L150H Long Boom machine, which was subsequently accepted. Following the acceptance, we had a race against time to get the spec’d machine ordered and delivered on time for the new facility opening.
Our Order Desk team, Volvo Product Manager Andrew Falloon and Lawrence, did an excellent job in conjunction with our service provider in New Plymouth, EHL, to get the machine prepared with the Ravensdown site specific build and delivered on time.
The beautifully presented L150H was delivered and commissioned by Lawrence and TDX Product Support Manager Brent Mitchell.
Following the machine familiarisation, all of the operators commented positively on the great visibility, safety features and overall comfort of the Volvo. The Comfort Drive Control steering (joystick steering) was seen as a big plus for the operators enabling less arm movement, greater comfort and less operator fatigue.
