TDX, the country’s leading supplier of construction equipment, diesel engines and transmissions to the heavy-machinery industry, has achieved two significant recognitions.
They have received Gold Sitewise certification and have retained their ACC Tertiary Accredited Employers Programme (AEP) recognition.
“TDX has a longstanding reputation based on providing the best sales and service back-up to our customers, and it’s important to show that we, as a company, want to do the same for our employees,” said Alle McGrath TDX General Manager - People & Safety.
“Achieving accreditation illustrates the value we put on the wellbeing and safety of our people and demonstrates we’re committed to providing the very best workplace for our staff.”
Sitewise is an industry recognised standard relating to health and safety of a business and achieving accreditation displays that a business has high quality systems in operation throughout the workplace. Factors taken into consideration during an assessment include site-specific safety plans, accident/incident reporting and investigation, hazard management, training, employee and subcontractor engagement.
Sitewise itself is a not-for-profit organisation committed to creating a culture of safety in the local construction and related industries.
“We’re proud to be awarded the Gold Standard for Sitewise, as this means TDX achieved 90% or above on our annual assessment,” said Alle McGrath “Like SiteWise, we’re dedicated to building on workplace engagement when it comes to enhancing safety messaging, as at the end of each day we want all of our employees to go home healthy and safe.”
Retention of the ACC Tertiary Accredited Employers Programme (AEP) standard was achieved via a series of workplace reviews relating to policies and procedures, as well as ongoing commitment on the part of the business to injury prevention and rehabilitation.
TDX is one of approximately 140 businesses or organisations, alongside the likes of Air NZ, Bank of New Zealand and Fonterra, which are part of the AEP Programme. *
With more than 300 employees spread over 16 different locations, the responsibilities associated with achieving, then maintaining, accreditation are considerable.
“We’re committed to creating a world-class sales and service organisation and, to help keep this front of mind, we have a set of TDX company values which we instill in our team members,” said Alle McGrath. “In this instance, the value of Passion is key as we strive to deliver a workplace which is not only safe, but engaging, is somewhere people love what they do and are free to demonstrate a positive, energetic attitude.
'The safety and wellbeing of our people is our highest priority. At TDX, our people know that we have their back.”
