The role:
Reporting to the GM- Sales and Marketing, the purpose of this role is to provide sales management to established sales teams of existing and potential customers of our Volvo, Yanmar, and Sennebogen construction and forestry equipment.

We are seeking a dynamic, proven, and results-driven Sales Manager with experience in the capital plant, forestry or general construction equipment industry, to lead and inspire our sales team as we continue to expand and enhance our market position. You will also need experience managing teams remotely.

Responsibilities include:

  • Training, mentoring, and leadership of approximately eight territory managers
  • Establishing and nurturing the relationships with our OEM’s and other partners
  • Driving the sales team against sales disciplines, including CRM maintenance and compliance
  • Inspiring team members to provide the highest level of sales acumen, creating a high-performance sales culture
  • Ensuring all sales enquiries are managed promptly and efficiently
  • Provide support with industry events
  • Work closely with customers both internal and external stakeholders to support overall product knowledge
  • Be committed to providing a quality service to internal and external customers, suppliers and all company departments
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions
  • Co-ordinate with the Order Desk on the preparation of sales forecasts, machine orders and logistics of machine arrivals
  • Requirement to travel extensively throughout New Zealand on a regular basis

We are ideally looking for:

  • An individual with proven progressive sales experience of capital equipment with a competitive, flexible and resilient nature to drive success
  • An individual that has experience with Salesforce, CRM or equivalent and understands the importance of the role it plays within the business
  • You will enjoy engaging with and building strong, trusting relationships with customers and internal partners, with the ability to negotiate and influence to reach optimal sales outcomes
  • An individual with working knowledge of capital equipment and previous experience in a capital equipment sales role is required which could include construction equipment, agricultural equipment or on-highway transport equipment
  • You will be self-driven to achieve results, with strong organisation and time management skills
